故事發(fā)生在一間位于多倫多市中心的便利店內(nèi)，經(jīng)營店鋪的是金氏夫婦，他們在80年代移民來到了多倫多，依靠著不懈的努力在這里站穩(wěn)了腳跟，生兒育女傳宗接代。金家的兒子脾氣非常火爆，在16歲那一年，兒子阿君和父親之間爆發(fā)了一場劇烈的爭吵，最終兩人談崩了，兒子選擇了離家出走，再也不和父親有任何的交際，但是他和母親以及妹妹之間的關(guān)系卻還算良好。 妹妹珍妮特目前是一名大學(xué)生，正在一家藝術(shù)大學(xué)里學(xué)習(xí)攝影課程，希望以后能夠成為一名攝影師。媽媽和妹妹都希望阿君和父親能夠重修舊好，但這顯然是一條充滿了荊棘的漫長道路。
